Stainless Steel 904L (UNS N08904) is a super austenitic alloy that offers moderate to high corrosion resistance and ability to sustain in a wide range of process conditions. Stainless Steel 904L is the combination of high chromium 4.5% and nickel 25% content. Addition to these, grade 904L contains traces of molybdenum and copper which offers excellent corrosion resistance. The material shows high molybdenum and low carbon content. Copper present in the alloy dramatically increases resistance to strong reducing acids. Addition of the aluminium allows for the formation of a continuous, homogenous self-repairing subscale.
